Re: startx-xwin seg fault, signal 11

I've been running cygwin/x (x86) under xp pro for YEARS,
with it working perfectly.

The last update to 1.17 has been a disaster.
I've read about using -listen tcp, and DISPLAY=:0.0 ;
however, nothing I've tried resolves the seg fault error i'm getting.

using 1.17.1-5; have also tried 1.17.2-0 to no avail; back on 1-5.

any help or direction would be appreciated!

Thanks very much for reporting this problem

Unfortunately, 32-bit XP is one of the platforms I test on, but I can't reproduce this problem.

There are two things you can perhaps do to generate additional information which will help me try to fix the problem:

1.
Install the experimental xorg-server-cygwin-crashreporter package and report the crash when it occurs.

2.
Follow the instructions for "Generating a backtrace when the X server is crashing at startup" at [1].
