RE: Windows 2008 access to inetsrv directory


Yes, this is Cygwin running on a Windows 2008/R2, 64-bit server. 


C:\Windows\sysnative?? Are you referring to c:\Windows\SysWOW64? Using the Windows CMD shell or Cygwin bash shell, I do see there is a C:\windows\syswow64\inetsrv directory. But it does not contain, or list, the "backup" directory.

Without knowing for sure, I'm going to guess that you're running on 64-bit Windows.  If that's the case, what you're seeing is not Cygwin- specific.  It's the Windows file system redirector that keeps 32-bit programs from accessing the ones in "System32" (oh the irony!)  If you really want to do this, try looking down the c:\Windows\sysnative subtree instead.
