could mkgroup be updated to define the group root?

Hi!
After a fresh Cygwin installation, /etc/group contains this line:
root:S-1-5-32-544:0:
When we update the file /etc/group with mkgroup, that line is lost.
Is it possible to update mkgroup to include that line in its output?
