cygwin1.dll was not found

Hello,

I'm brand new and shiny. I'm attempting to install cygwin in order to install and run mutt. I have no experience with either of them. I have no idea whether cygwin and mutt are what I need. I'll learn by doing.

It appears that cygwin failed to install 'cygwin1.dll'.

I read the FAQ. I've searched the archives and the net (via Google) for the string "cygwin1.dll was not found". No cigar.

Where can I find 'cygwin1.dll' compatible with 'setup.exe' (the cygwin packager), no version # (no StringFileInfo data), dated 2012-04-29, 705,053 bytes?

I would assume that when I find it, 'cygwin1.dll' should go here: 'C:\cygwin\bin\'.

This is from 'setup.ini': "setup-version: 2.774".

Below, for your optional reading pleasure, is a blow-by-blow account of how I got into this situation.

Ciao & Thanks for your help...
- Mark Filipak.

From 'setup.exe'
================
"Package: terminfo
	terminfo.sh exit code -6"
"Package: man
	man.sh exit code -6"

From 'C:\cygwin\bin\mintty.exe -i /Cygwin-Terminal.ico -'
=========================================================
Title: "mintty.exe - Unable To Locate Component"
"This application has failed to start because cygwin1.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."

I tried to re-install by rerunning 'setup.exe'. The result:

"Package: Unknown package
	man.sh exit code -6
	terminfo.sh exit code -6"
