I've heard / read how particular folks are on this list, so please forgive me if I'm too terse. OS: Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard Cygwin version: 1.7.17s uname -a output: CYGWIN_NT-6.1-WOW64 ECBUILD-WIN9 1.7.17s(0.262/5/3) 20120817 17:47:49 i686 Cygwin cygcheck -s -v -r output: attached. assertion failure: assertion "i == 0" failed: file "/netrel/src/cygwin-snapshot-20120817-1/winsup/cygwin/pinfo.cc", line 319, function: void pinfo::init(pid_t, DWORD, void*) I have a few shell scripts that ran one after the other doing various process manipulation things: ps -W ps -e -W All of my scripts failed. I just rebooted the machine, and these ps commands are no longer crapping out. It's not clear to me if the problem was that this version of Cygwin was recently installed on this machine (and possibly it wasn't rebooted) or if the machine starts off in a good state and eventually falls into this state. Thanks. -Sandeep
