- Subject: does readline need (min)tty?
Dear all,
a quick question:
Must a cygwin application that uses readline in a nontrivial way run
in an environment with terminal capabilities missing in Windows 7
console?
We have such an an application that (after upgrading to the current
1.7.9-1 version of Cygwin) works OK if started from a mintty window,
but crashes, with symptoms like
24 [main] gapw95 428 exception::handle: Exception: STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION
13628 [main] gapw95 428 open_stackdumpfile: Dumping stack trace to
gapw95.exe.stackdump
at startup when started from Windows command prompt.
It used to work before the Cygwin 1.7 era.
Thanks,
Dmitrii
