never responded.

I expect that's true. But if it's like some other large, successful software companies I've seen, a single request for a feature falls pretty low on the priority list unless there's an internal (or sometimes external) champion. Without that, it's the sheer number of requests for a feature that tip the balance. So I'd encourage you to add your "+1" to any existing request, if that's possible, or to submit your own. Often these things just come down to the perceived demand. Google may respond if they see a line forming. ;-)
