- Subject: <Ctrl-D> often does not successfully exit rxvt and close it down
Both before and after the recent cygwin1.dll update I have had
occasional instances where <Ctrl-D> fails to close down an rxvt terminal
window and I am left with the terminal window showing
$ exit
and not shutting down. I have been unable to discern any common thread
or activity preceding this class of failure (usually I would look for
evidence of some heavy use of "find" or similar) and it sometimes occurs
when shutting down after very little / very light activity. The solution
is to <Ctrl-Alt-Del> into Task Manager and shut the rxvt terminal
window down from there.
The incidence of failures is today about 80%. Anybody else?
Attached: cygcheck.out. Incidentally I experienced the shutdown
difficulty after just 3 lines:
cygcheck -srv > cygcheck.out
bzip2 cygcheck.out
ls -al
and actually later after just a one-line activity:
cat .bash_history
Thank you,
Fergus
