So it doesn't explicitly depend on any form of libreadline (for that
matter, it's not a cygwin app).  So upgrading cygwin should have no effect
on q's behavior; you should be complaining to the q folks, not here.

It doesn't matter what's in .inputrc if q isn't using readline, since
.inputrc only affects apps like bash or gdb that use readline.
