- Subject: Error trying to cramfsck - mknod issue with sockets?
Hi - I'm trying to extract a cramfs image built from a Linux system under Windows using cygwin. I have a Vista OS and have installed the latest current cygwin build. I'm a "windows guy" and have little knowledge of Linux.
I start up a bash shell and run "cramfsck -v -x test rootfs" which all goes well until I get:
s 0666 0 0:0 test/dev/log
cramfsck: mknod failed: test/dev/log: Invalid argument
which looks to me like mknod doesn't like creating socket files? Now from what little I can figure out, mknod uses some sort of device table to know what sort of things it can create? and maybe sockets isn't one of them? Can someone please help me to try to figure out what I need to get this working? also, I don't have a /dev/log folder - could that be an issue?
Thanks for any help,
John
