Using non-cygwin python-2.5.4, distutils failed to compile c files and generated the following error message: error: command 'gcc' failed: No such file or directory Apparently, distutils failed to locate the full path to gcc.exe because /bin/gcc.exe is an s-link instead of a regular file (os.path.isfile() returned False). One simple work-around is to delete that s-link and copy /bin/gcc-3.exe to /bin/gcc.exe Not sure if there is anything that could/should be done here, maybe just an FYI to those who might run into the same issue. -Joe Pham ____________________________________________________________ Deter possible thieves with a reliable new car alarm!
