Hi,
In sys/time.h the timeval struct is defined as:
struct timeval {
long tv_sec;
long tv_usec;
};
It should be
struct timeval {
time_t tv_sec;
suseconds_t tv_usec;
};

The type suseconds_t and useconds_t are also not there with Cygwin
