Hi,
I shall look at how the other ghostscript distributions handle
the Hershey fonts. SuSE fonts-config blacklists these fonts.
Another quick check points to freetype2.

We have 2.1.5 in cygwin (Sep 2003), current freetype version is 2.1.9.
Can freetype2 be upgraded to 2.1.9?
