Strange group name

I have installed cygwin 1.5.6(0.108/3/2) and I notice that the files in my home directory have a group ownership of "mkgroup-l-d".
I'm new to cygwin, and have installed it as a domain user on a workstation running Windows 2000 Professional Ver 5.0 Build 2195 Service Pack 4.
Please could someone suggest how this strange group name has got into my /etc/group file?
Thanks,
Julian.
