9x isn't supported by cron anyway... What bugs me most is that *nobody*
for a loooong time was even trying to send patches to get cron running
under 9x/Me.  To quote from cron.README:

Cron is neither patched for nor tested on 9x/ME. If it doesn't work,
feel free to send me patches to accomodate 9x/ME. If you have problems,
I assume it will have to do with file permission or user identity
checks, probably.

See what I mean?  Patches?  Therefore my willingness to support 9x is
pretty low.

Probably but I'm tending to become mean.  Creating a new cron version
would run contrary to this effort.

Anyway, the new release is already uploaded so what the heck...
