RE: Latest version of SSH and WinCVS Problems

oops!  more information:

   Win2k, SP2
   WinCVS 1.2

The problem occurs whether I use the WinCVS GUI or the WinCVS 'cvs.exe'
directly from the Cygwin bash prompt. Curiously, the Cygwin
/usr/bin/cvs does not have the problem with cygwin DLL 1.3.11-3. When I
run the WinCVS 'cvs.exe' from the Cygwin bash prompt, I get the
following output:

$ /usr/bin/ssh -V
OpenSSH_3.4p1, SSH protocols 1.5/2.0, OpenSSL 0x0090604f

$ export CVS_RSH=/usr/bin/ssh
$ export CVSROOT=:ext:<linux server>:/path/to/repos

$ cd /path/to/wincvs/binaries
$ ./cvs.exe --version
Concurrent Versions System (CVS) 1.11 (client)

$ ./cvs.exe -t version
Client: Concurrent Versions System (CVS) 1.11 (client)
Server:

At this point, the cvs program hangs, waiting for meaningful information
from ssh.
