Interesting. Yes, I tended to use mirrors.rcn.net before, but right
now, my only cache is from ftp.planetmirror.com, with which I've had no
problems.

In fact, it actually appears to be a mirror site dependent thing.
mirrors.rcn.net causes the reported fail, whereas using ftp.mirror.ac.uk
worked fine. I also noticed that many packages are much more up to date
at ftp.mirror.ac.uk than at mirrors.rcn.net, which i found surprising.
