I don't know if this will shed any light on the subject.

Under NT4SP6a, MAKE v. 3.7 generates the following message:

      0 [main] sh 260 proc_subproc: Couldn't duplicate my handle<0x90> for 
pid 1628033804, Win32 error 6

However, the make completes (the object and exe are built).

Is it because both TASM and TLINK are 16-bit executables, and would
run under NTVDM?
