Can't run cygwin under a telnet seesion to NT2000

- Subject: Can't run cygwin under a telnet seesion to NT2000
I telnet to a NT2000 system and tried to run cygwin under dos. I got the
following error
0 [main] sh 1460 stdio_init: couldn't make stderr distinct from stdout
Any help is appreciated.
