RE: Problem with root account, login, X, KDE, etc -- none of the docu mentation seemed to work


Just had setup.exe re-download everything newer, installed all updates...

login still doesn't work and the man page still reports 1.2 (even though I
see that 1.4 is out according to the mailing list).

Yes, I started with that. I have read many of these pages, and followed
those instructions.  Even setting up the
U-PDX\malachid, I still can't even login as my current user.  Looking at the
man page, I am using:
	Cygwin Login 1.2           17 May 2000
