Since JDE requires some variant of emacs and JDE announcements already occur
there, there's no need to duplicate them any further.  What if the user isn't
using emacs?  Then they probably won't switch editors just to use JDE since that
would require learning two new tools.

Also, what if someone needs to know about source control tools?  Should
cvs-announce be duplicated here as well?  What about build tools?  Should both
ant and make be announced here?  What about OpenOffice announcments?  We could
go on forever with any tools anyone would ever use.

I was able to learn about JDE through other means (I'm assuming Paul was, too).
Those means are still open to others.

I suppose you'd also say SPAM should be OK on this list, too?

I am bothered:
1.  It makes me think there could be something wrong with the mailers.
2.  It makes me think there could be something wrong with the Notes servers.
3.  It makes me think JDE is extremely unstable since there're so many releases.
