running make.exe problem

Hi,

I've installed cygwin on my Windows NT system so I can build the Xerces
1.2.3 source code on my computer (this is recommended by xml.apache.org).
However, when downloading and installing to my system, several files were
said to be unavailable for download, and my only option was to say "okay".
That in itself is not a problem. But, after cygwin is apparently
installed, and I set up my path correctly to the cygwin\bin directory, I
run make.exe in the xerces top directory and I get the following error:
The dynamic line library cygwin1.dll could not be found in the specified
path c:\cygwin\bin;...etc...
Then I did a file search and there is no file cygwin1.dll on my computer.
I assume that cygwin.dll was one of the files that I was unable to
download. Or I'm doing something else wrong. I've never used cygwin
before. Can someone please give me a tip or two. I'd appreciate it.

Thanks in advance,

Alex Lazarevich
