The reason this doesn't happen is because it's a PITA.  If I hit 'Reply'
it goes only to the person, not the list.  If I hit 'Reply All' it goes
to the person AND to the list.  There is not 'Reply to the Mailing List
but not to the Person' button.  I have (a) hit 'Reply All' and then
manually edit the To: list to remove the sender.  

Of course, those that edit their Reply-To: make this a non-issue (I
would do that, but can't easily.  For this sort of thing to be
convenient, you have to set up mail filters to send cygwin mail to a
separate holding area, then while reading those messages switch your
mail-personality to the one with the appropriate Reply-To: setting, etc
etc.  That's not possible for me since I use a variety of mail clients
from dozens of different computers at multiple locations...)
