Remove cygwin1.dll in c:\windows\system, then try again.
The two cygwin1.dll may be different version, and cygwin setup does not install cygwin1.dll in c:\windows\system.
Good luck!

Subject: Question about cygwin compilers
Hi
I am using the current Cygwin (Dll 1.1.6) under window. My g++ / c++ compiler is version 2.95.2-5. The problem is whenever I compile a c or cpp script I get a pop up window with the error msg "The CPP.EXE file is linked to missing export CYGWIN1.DLL:_ctype_". Along with the popup msg, i also get a console msg "gcc: installtion problem, cannot exec `/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-cygwin/2.95.2-5/cpp.exe': Permission denied." I have executable permission of that file so I don't know why I am getting that msg. My cygwin1.dll file is located in /bin/ and there also one in c:\windows\system (I don't know if cygnus install it it there or what).
Please provide some help.
