gdbm-1.8.0-3 is ready for testing at
http://cygutils.netpedia.net/testing/gdbm-1.8.0-3.tar.gz
http://cygutils.netpedia.net/testing/gdbm-1.8.0-3-src.tar.gz
(not using sourceware for test releases -- it's hard for folks to get
them from the private directories since they're not mirrored).
Changes from 1.8.0-2
o follows new naming scheme for dlls:
/usr/lib/libgdbm.dll.a (import lib)
/usr/lib/libgdbm.a (static lib)
/usr/bin/cyggdbm.dll (dll **)
(**) The last update to gdbm was almost two years ago. The one before
that was in 1995. Both had the same interface. I'd call that stable.
No version necessary.
Installation:
Download gdbm-1.8.0-3.tar.gz and either:
put it in an empty directory with setup.exe
run setup (install from local directory)
or
unpack from '/': cd / && tar xvzf gdbm-1.8.0-3.tar.gz
Comments eagerly solicited,
Chuck Wilson
P.S. Please reply to this message with comments specific to the gdbm
package. If you wish to discuss the library naming scheme, please don't
respond to this message. I'll post another thread to kick off *that*
discussion.
