Accessing the cygwin "minwc10.dll" in any way hangs windows 2000
if you have netshield running (just as it hangs NT or windows 98
if you have McAfee virusscan running).
Just reading the file into memory, either from the install .zip or
later from disk (e.g to copy a directory) causes mcafee to consume
all processing resources, and hang the system.
The cygwin FAQ mentions something about shared memory, but this isn't
the problem. The problem is that mcafee NAI doesn't like the look of
this tiny little file, and flips out.
Supposed Work-Around: If you bring up the console and select the
'exclusions' tab, you can exclude files of this name. However,
it still hangs my machine unless I shut down the virus scanner.
