RE: tape support

thanks for your kindly answer.

but.

about mknod : the comand exists. but does not
work with -b 27 0 for creating /dev/ct. in fact
i have tried it with no options and it worked.

about mount. i have mounted the device required.

i have issued the command

mount -fsb '\\.\tape0' /dev/ct. as you kindly relate in your helping pages.

i have tried to do it in two scenaries

first. before using mknod.

second. after using mknod in the only way it works, that is, without
options -b 27 0. which i collected from linux docs.

so i hope this info will be helpful in your debugging task.

i relate the two sequences of operation without correct responses from the
system.

common to the two sequences of operation
installing using setup from latest.
including some of your updated toolset
mt, tar, cpio, the dll,

first
mknod /dev/ct
mount -fsb '\\.\tape0' /dev/ct

then using mt, tar etc... fails

second
mount -fsb '\\.\tape0' /dev/ct

then using mt, tar etc... fails

that's all.
have nice time.
