Cooked mode problem with V1.0 (again)

Hey Chris (or whoever wants to respond)...

To refresh your memory, we were talking about the backspace key not working
for program such as "sh" or "cat -".

I have another follow-up: Un-setting CYGWIN=tty solves the problem for
the black "bash" window, but if I pull up an xterm (from Siddigi's XFree
download for Cygwin V1.0), the problem comes back. Is there a fix for
xterms?

Also, one other question. Is there a patch for Cygwin V1.0 that will
fix
this so that CYGWIN=tty mode works right? Can anyone at least point
me
to the right part of the source code so that I can hopefully fix the
problem
and post a patch?

Many thanks,

Jim Grishaw
