This question has nothing to do with the development of the Cygwin DLL.
In fact, it has little to do with Cygwin, and seems to be a generic UNIX
question. You should probably do a little more google searching for an
answer to your question. If that doesn't work you should ask a specific
question using real code in the cygwin mailing list.
