Is this for 1.7 only, or for both 1.5 and 1.7?  I assume for 1.7 only,
since many of the reasons that 4.3.x is "performing better" than 3.4.x
on cygwin are due to changes in the cygwin kernel...but honestly, I have
no objections if you "throw the switch" on both 1.5 and 1.7.  Anyway,
can you clarify?
