the way that it will work is entirely dependent on what you enter for
the root location. It will start up with the value from your existing
1.5 install; if you leave it the same it will read the installed.db from
that location and attempt to upgrade. If you change the root location
to something else it will forget everything it ever knew about that
previous value (like anything it read from the installed.db there) and
do a new install to that location. In either case it will write the
value to the new registry key so that it will start with that value the
next time it's run.
